In an unfortunate incident on 17 January, ZIM’s office in Piraeus, Greece, fell victim to a bomb planted by pro-Palestinian activists.
The explosive event occurred during the early hours of 17 January, resulting in minor structural damage to the office building of the shipping company. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the blast.
The attack was likely directed at ZIM, an Israel-based shipping company, with motivations behind the act believed to be linked to Israel’s conflict with the Palestinian Hamas group in Gaza. Protesters threw leaflets at the building’s entrance reading “Freedom for Palestine.”
Container News reached out to ZIM Hellas for a statement, but as of now, the company’s representatives have not provided any comments on the incident.
