Hapag-Lloyd confirms GRI of US$1,000/box from US and Canada

Hapag-Lloyd will apply a General Rate Increase (GRI) of US$1,000/container from the United States (US) and Canada West Coast to Arabian Gulf, Red Sea, and Indian Subcontinent, effective from 1 August.

In particular, the GRI will apply for all container types for all dry, reefer, non-operating reefer tank, flat rack and open-top containers from the ports of Los Angeles, Long Beach, Seattle, Tacoma, Vancouver and Prince Rupert to the aforementioned destinations.

Arabian Gulf includes United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain, Iraq, Oman, Qatar, and the Saudi Arabia destinations of Dammam, Riyadh, and Jubail – Red Sea includes Jordan and the Saudi Arabia destination of Jeddah – Indian Subcontinent includes India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka.
