Hapag-Lloyd has informed to its customers that it will delay the application of a general rate increase (GRI) on 1 November 2020 on its eastbound routes from East Asia to all USA and Canadian ports.
The new effective date of the GRI will be December 1, 2020. This GRI has been delayed from October 1, 2020.
The general rate increase will be applied to all dry cargo containers, reefer containers, NOR (non-operating reefer) containers, tanks, flat-rack containers and open-top containers as follows:
From East Asia to North America (USA and Canada)
- USD 960 for all 20 ‘containers
- USD 1200 for all 40 ‘containers
East Asia is defined as the countries / counties of Japan, Korea, China / Taiwan, China / Hong Kong, China (PRC), China / Macau, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, and Thailand. Thailand, Myanmar, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, Indonesia, the Philippines and the Pacific coastal provinces of Russia.
